Matt Le Tissier has said that Tottenham should have made the Champions League their priority before their 1-1 draw with West Brom this weekend.

Spurs have been in impressive form in the Champions League and have managed to win the group of death, twice defeating Borussia Dortmund and taking four points from their two games against reigning European champions Real Madrid.

Their League form has however been a mixed bag so far. They lost the North London derby against Arsenal last weekend and followed that up with a draw against struggling West Brom.

When asked if Spurs should change their focus to the Champions League, Le Tissier said that the decision should have been made before the game against the Baggies.

“To be honest, I think it was before this result,” he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (broadcast on 25th November 2017 from 12:00 pm) when asked whether now is the time to change priorities following the draw.

“To try and claw 11 points against a team of Man City’s standard, that’s a huge ask and I would say, yeah they’re playing for a top four place and they need to focus more on the Champions League.”
