Pochettino makes worrying admission about Tottenham’s title challenge

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that his side’s Premier League chances may be over after they drew 1-1 against West Brom at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Salomon Rondon put the Baggies ahead after just four minutes and Spurs needed a strike from key man Harry Kane in order to rescue a point.

Frustratingly for Spurs, the result means that they have picked up just one point from their last two League games after they lost to Arsenal last weekend.

As a result of the draw, the points gap between Manchester City and Spurs could increase to 13 by the end of the weekend if Pep Guardiola’s men manage to beat Huddersfield.

When asked if the task of winning the Premier League is to great, Pochettino replied saying: “Yes, it’s true. The gap now is 10 points. It’s massive in the Premier League.

“But now we need to be focused on improving ourselves and be more consistent here at Wembley. We’re disappointed to drop two points today. It’s difficult to explain why we didn’t win the game.

“If you saw the stats, we only conceded two shots on goal. I think the team created a lot of situations and possibilities to score. Our performance was enough to win but we didn’t.”
