Aston Villa youngster Keinan Davis has revealed that he is not feeling extra pressure after being asked to step up.
Davis is likely to receive more game time over the coming months after it has emerged that Jonathan Kodjia will spend the next several months on the sidelines as he has to undergo further surgery on his injured ankle.
Kodjia scored 19 goals from 36 Championship games last season and his absence is no doubt a major blow for the Villains who are aiming to win promotion to the Premier League.
Davis was previously used as a support striker and he will now have to occupy the main role. He is relishing the prospect and said, “I’m leading the line now with Jonathan Kodjia out through injury, but I don’t really feel the pressure.
“The increased game time can only be a good thing for me; it means I’ll get more chances to show what I can do. My next target is to remain consistent and score some more goals.”
