West Ham lost 2-nil to Watford at the weekend, and the only good thing about the game is that they recorded an improved physical statistics, running further than they have in any previous Premier League clash this term.
The Hammers came under a lot of scrutiny under erstwhile manager Slaven Bilic for their lack of match fitness, but new boss David Moyes has got them working harder than before in training.
Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang, who made most tackles (3) of the West Ham players against the Hornets claimed Moyes’ approach is best for them in order to improve the results.
He told the club’s official website ahead of Friday’s clash with Leicester City at the London Stadium: “We need time to understand better what he wants and we have to work a little bit more to be fit to do the things he wants.
“I’m agreeing with him because he is angry we lost the game. He thinks we can do something better and we have to do more.
“We have to work hard for the next game and forget about the last one because what happened, happened.”
West Ham are currently in the relegation zone after 12 Premier League, and the clash against the former champions represents their best chance to bag 3 points ahead of a tough run of fixtures.
The Hammers play Everton away after Leicester before games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, and it will take a lot of efforts to pick up points against the title chasers.
