Former Tottenham winger Matthew Etherington has suggested on social networking platform Twitter that West Ham star Manuel Lanzini is being wasted on the left-hand side.
Etherington made the observation after the Hammers fell to a 2-0 defeat against Watford during the weekend.
The 24-year-old Lanzini, who is a key player for the East London club played the entire game, but failed to make a real impact as his side were consigned to yet another disappointing result.
He played on the left-wing during the first half and after proving to be ineffective in that role, was moved to a more central role for the second half.
Etherington has suggested that the club is wasting the talents of Lanzini.
Didn’t expect that performance!! Watford by far the better team, Lanzini wasted out on the left hand side. Worrying times ⚒#WATWHU

The Hammers are currently playing a poor brand of football and are languishing in 18th position on the Premier League standings with just 9 points from 12 games. As a result, they could be set to face a relegation battle.
