Football pundit Joey Barton believes that Danny Rose is on borrowed time at Tottenham.
The 27-year-old Rose was left out of the Spurs match day squad that played against Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend and this led to speculation that he had a rift with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino has since suggested that he left out Rose from his squad due to fitness reasons. Rose has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United and Jose Mourinho is reported to be a fan of him.
He also controversially claimed during the summer transfer reason that Spurs do not play their players sufficiently and that he would leave the club if he were offered an opportunity to join a club that has better chances of winning trophies.
Barton said: “I think Danny Rose seems on borrowed time a little bit. Pochettino doesn’t like anybody who steps out of the team framework, rightly or wrongly, and Ben Davies has gone in and done fantastically well. He also has got the option of playing Aurier or Trippier at left-back.”
