David Moyes kicked off his West Ham managerial career on a losing note, with Watford condemning the Hammers to a 2-nil defeat in what was the Scot’s 500th Premier League game.
While the outfield players were generally below par, Joe Hart was clearly at fault for the 2nd goal, and it’s not the first time the England international will be letting the team down.
It won’t be the last either.
The 30-year-old has played every minute of the EPL campaign this term, shipping 25 goals – more than any other goalie.
While a woeful West Ham rearguard hasn’t helped issues indeed, the fact remains that Hart has been poor too.
Backup shotstopper Adrian has made some impressive saves in the League Cup, playing a very crucial role as the Hammers saw off Tottenham last month to make the quarterfinals.
The Spaniard deserves a chance and Moyes shouldn’t hesitate to hand it to him.
Hart has been underwhelming since his Torino days, and he has done nothing to prove he’s better than Adrian since arriving the Olympic Stadium in the summer.
Great goalies often win/save a couple of points for their side, but in West Ham’s first choice, they have one that makes them drop points, and it could prove detrimental going forward.
There are a million reasons for Moyes to drop Hart – the reputation he’s trying to rebuild is one.
