According to reports, Sporting Lisbon ace William Carvalho could be set to join West Ham during the January transfer window.
Carvalho has established himself as one of the most highly rated midfielders in Portugal and is also a first team regular within the Portugal national team.
West Ham did also attempt to sign Carvalho during the summer transfer window which caused controversy.
It has been reported that the Hammers offered €23 million for the services of Carvalho which Sporting rejected despite their communication director Nuno Saraiva claiming that no offer was made.
If reports are now to be believed, the Hammers are willing to fork out €28 million to lure Carvalho during the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old has so far made ten appearances in all competitions for Sporting. Carvalho will be a good signing for the East London club who are so far struggling in the League and who could be set to face a relegation dogfight this season.
