Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has played down Tottenham’s title chances and backed Manchester City to win the Premier League.

City have been in lethal form this season so far and currently look as though they are sailing towards the League title this season.

Spurs have shown tremendous progress since Mauricio Pochettino took charge of the club and are now arguably one of the best teams in England.

They have however done almost a decade without winning a piece of major silverware, having last tasted success when they won the League Cup in 2008.

That will need to change soon if they want to silence their critics and prevent their stars from joining new clubs.

Seaman said: “The two Manchester clubs and Chelsea are better equipped than either Tottenham or Arsenal to win the Premier League. I think if Arsenal were to get close they would have to play brilliantly all the time.

“Tottenham will go close if they do the same but, for me, it is going to be between the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea.

“I wouldn’t say that Arsenal or Tottenham cannot win the league but If I was going to bet with money, it would be on Manchester City.”
