West Ham midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate’s agent has revealed that there is a lot of interest from England and Italy for the Senegalese international, according to Turkish Football.
West Ham have been struggling this season in the Premier League, with the Hammers currently languishing in the relegation zone following a poor start.
Understandably, many players have been underperforming for the London based side and one of them has been their midfield stalwart Cheikhou Kouyate – who looks a shell of his former dominating self this season.
These poor performances have led many to criticize the 27-year-old but nonetheless, he is still attrcing the interest from a host of clubs if claims from his agent Saffet Balkan are to be believed.
Balkan said, “We have received a lot of interest. Interest spiked after Senegal qualified for the World Cup yesterday. Several clubs and agents want to hold talks. The Italian and Premier League scouts have been very impressed.
“Kouyate is very happy in England, he’s settled into life. There are no offers on the table at this stage, we will hold talks and consider our options.”
Although Kouyate is well settled in England it will be interesting to see if the Senegalese might be tempted to move away if the struggles continues and given West Ham’s £27million valuation of the player, bids for him might not be in abundance.
