Dalglish reveals 2 reasons why Motherwell can upset Celtic in the Betfred Cup final

Celtic vs Hearts

Motherwell stand in between Celtic and a first silverware this term, with both sides set to clash next Sunday in the Scottish Cup final.

The Hoops are favorites to retain the trophy this term having extended their unbeaten domestic run since last season to 63.

However, Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish believes ‘Well cannot and should not be underestimated.

The Fir Park outfit saw off Morton, Ross County, Aberdeen and Rangers on their way to the final, and Dalglish has hailed both star striker Louis Moult and manager Stephen Robinson, citing them as reasons why Celtic could have their work cut out for them.

The 66-year-old told Motherwell Times ahead of the Hampden Park showpiece: “its two teams playing each other so of course Motherwell have a shout.

“It’s great for Motherwell to get there, considering where they have been recently. They’ve had a good start to the year.

“They’ve done well, up until they got beat against Ross County in their last match. The boy Moult (Louis, Motherwell’s top scorer) knows where the goal is.

“I’ve not seen him a lot, I’ve only seen goals going in. He’s (Robinson) got to get a bit of credit. You’ve got to give them credit when they’re winning because they get plenty of abuse when they are getting beat.”

Celtic are on course to defend their local treble following another impressive start to the campaign, but Motherwell have sprung up few surprises on their way to Hampden Park and could prove to be a hard nut to crack come November 26.
