West Ham United boss David Moyes handed huge injury blow

West Ham boss David Moyes will not have striker Javier Hernandez to call upon during his first three games in charge of the club.

The Mexican international is set to be out for three weeks due to a hamstring injury.

He picked up the knock while playing for his country in a friendly international against Belgium last Friday and will not be available for the Hammers Premier League clash against Watford this weekend.

He is also expected to miss the games against Leicester City and against Moyes’ former club Everton.

This will be a major blow for the East London club considering that Hernandez has so far been arguably their most potent threat in front of goal this season.

Hernandez previously worked with Moyes during the Scottish manager’s previous unsuccessful managerial spell with Manchester United.

It was under Moyes that Hernandez fell down the pecking order at United which eventually led to his move to Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.
