Leeds United handed massive boost ahead of Middlesbrough clash

Leeds resume action after the international break with a clash against high-flying Middlesbrough, and having lost their last 3 games and dropped out of the playoffs zone, a win is badly needed to quickly arrest the poor run of results.

The Whites need fresh impetus in attack going forward, and have been handed an injury boost with the return of Caleb Ekuban.

The Ghanaian striker has been missing in action since breaking a bone in his foot against Sunderland in August, and did require a surgical operation to get back on his feet.

In Ekuban’s absence, Leeds manager has largely depended on fellow summer arrival Pierre-Michel Lasogga as his sole striking option.

However, the 23-year-old brings pace and mobility to the table – 2 qualities his German counterpart lacks.

The former Chievo man was splendid while on loan at Albanian Superliga side Partizani Tirana last term, scoring 17 goals in 34 league games.

Having Ekuban back will definitely strengthen Leeds’ attack, and he could help change their fortunes with his contributions.
