Has ex-Celtic man just claimed Hibernian are the best team in Scotland ?

Celtic vs Hearts

Celtic remain the best side in the land hands down, but their closest challengers Aberdeen and Rangers have found keen competition in Hibernian for the runners-up spot.

Managed by former Hoops boss Neil Lennon, the Easter Road side have had their best start to the top-flight campaign since 2011 this term, losing just twice in 13 games, with 7 wins and 4 draws keeping them in touch with the title challengers.

However, Lennon believes his side could have done much better and should have drawn just once.

Such run would have seen them gone top of the league and a point ahead of Celtic, although the Hoops still have a game in hand.

The Hibs boss claimed following last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Dundee: “We should have won at Dundee earlier in the season, we should have won at St Johnstone and we were 2-0 up against Motherwell.

“That’s six points dropped and if we had not dropped them we would be top of the table.

“The players are in a really good place at the moment, there’s a real belief about them and their fitness levels are excellent.”

Since losing 4-2 to Celtic in the League Cup semifinals last month, Hibernian have emerged victorious in all their subsequent 4 league encounters.

They also left Parkhead with a point during the league encounter in September, a game Celtic were 10 minutes away from losing.

Hibs have been brilliant thus far, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise if they make it to Europe next season.
