As per the Scottish Sun, Leeds United have plans to sign 16-year-old Hearts midfielder Harry Cochrane during the January transfer window having identified his exceptional potential.
The club’s director of football Victor Orta is said to have scouted the £500,000-rated Scottish teenager, and has been impressed by what he has seen thus far.
Cochrane only made his Scottish Premiership debut for the Jambos this term, but has since played 4 other games, including the Edinburgh derby as he continues to further establish himself in manager Craig Levein’s first-team plans.
Leeds have recently become famous for cashing in on their youth products, so having to bring one for the future in instead is a much welcome development.
While the Whites have fallen off track and struggled in recent games, the midfield remains a position full of quality and depth, and it’s highly unlikely to see an emerging talent like Cochrane land himself a spot in the first team should he arrive.
However, the sensational youngster has all it takes to establish himself as a major cog in the middle of the park for Leeds going forward, and such signing could turn out to be a well-planned and timed investment.
