West Ham are hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-all stalemate against Crystal Palace when Liverpool come to town on Saturday.
The Hammers squandered the chance to bag all 3 points against the Eagles when they allowed a 2-goal lead slip through their hands.
A loss to the Reds will see the London Stadium outfit slip down into the drop zone should Swansea and Everton win heading into the international break, and captain Mark Noble insists victory is achievable against the Merseysiders.
As per the 30-year-old midfielder, West Ham are aware of the importance of getting a win at Liverpool’s expense, citing the Crystal Palace clash as one of the reasons that makes motivation aplenty within the west London camp ahead of the clash.
Nobles sees the desire to head into the international break with victory and the home fans as the other factors that can inspire them against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
He told the club’s official website ahead of Saturday’s clash: “With where we are in the table, what happened at Crystal Palace last weekend and the fact we go into the final international break of the year after it, there is a massive motivation to win Saturday’s game.
“Liverpool at home is a big game – it always is. We’re at home, we’ll have the crowd behind us and we’ve got to roll our sleeves up, look forward to the game and do the basics right.”
A win will ease a lot of pressure on the players and boss Slaven Bilic, and while there are slim chances of achieving such result, that West Ham have occasionally proven capable of going toe to toe with the big boys makes it possible.
