Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli has revealed that he was not surprised by the way in which his side dominated Real Madrid in a Champions League encounter on Wednesday en route to a 3-1 victory.
The victory ensured that the North London club will play in the last 16 of Europe’s Premier club competition and also proved that they have what it takes to compete against the big-guns of World football.
Alli was brilliant on the day scoring a brace, while Christian Eriksen was also on target to secure a memorable win for the Lilywhites.
When asked if he found his team’s performance against the Spanish giants to be surprising, Alli replied saying: “To be honest, no. We spoke after the game at their place and said we couldn’t believe how much space we had at times and that the easy pass looked too obvious at times and we were too sloppy.”
