Dismissed Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha is already hot cake amongst Mexican clubs despite only recently being out of job.
The Portuguese was shown the exit door at Ibrox last Thursday, but that hasn’t stopped his former club Santos Laguna, Guadalajara, Cruz Azul and Pumas from queuing for his signature.
While Caixinha is very much keen on returning to the dugout as soon as possible, issues with his severance package with Rangers are preventing him from joining any side yet.
His agent Nuno Batista confirmed to Daily Record: “Yes, there has been contact from Mexican clubs, but we cannot talk to anyone until we reach agreement with Rangers.
“We are still trying to finalise the details with them and that is our priority for now.
“After that, we can analyse the offers that have come in both from clubs in Europe and elsewhere. We are not ruling anything out for now.
“Pedro has a great affection for Mexican football. He obviously worked there for a few years and did very well.
“He loves to work and get involved with a serious project and there are plenty of opportunities in Mexican football.”
The 46-year-old signed a 3-year with Rangers in March, and with 2 and half years left on his deal before his sack, the club will have to pay him off.
Caixinha spent around £9million in a summer overhaul that saw 11 players arrive at Ibrox, but results weren’t impressive enough to convince the management he deserved to stay till the end of the campaign.
Rangers are taking their time in appointing a new manager, and are hoping to land someone capable of returning them to the top of Scottish football.
