Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that his side could have at least earned a point from their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.
United managed to win the game on Saturday late on during the second half after Anthony Martial managed to find the back of the net.
Spurs suffered a major blow prior to the match as they had to make do without the services of Harry Kane, who picked up an injury during the North London club’s Premier League victory over Liverpool.
Spurs did have a good chance to score when Christian Eriksen played in a good chipped pass to Dele Alli, however the England international sent his shot wide.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino said: “If Dele Alli had scored now the question would be different. It is always about the result. You are always going to miss your main striker but it is not fair to talk about Harry Kane. It was the best chance to go 1-0 up, and then from then to go 1-0 down. But now we move on.”
