Sherwood explains why he would play under Pochettino rather than Mourinho

Mourinho

Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has revealed that he would rather play under Mauricio Pochettino or Pep Guardiola than other current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Pochettino has a good reputation for working with youth and has established himself as one of the most highly rated managers in World football for the work that he has done so far during his time with Spurs.

Guardiola is also regarded as one of the best managers of the current generation as a result of the work that he did while at the helm of Barcelona and Bayern Munich and he will be looking to lead Manchester City to major silverware this season.

Though Mourinho is also regarded as one of the best managers of this generation, he is also controversial and has a management style which can polarize players.

Sherwood has since revealed that he would rather play under Pochettino or Guardiola than under Mourinho. He said: We’ve been players. I’d rather play for Pochettino or Guardiola than Jose.

“To win a trophy, are you more guaranteed a trophy with Jose? Probably. But, if I was Lukaku for instance in that game against Liverpool, would I have enjoyed that football match? No.

“If they’d got a result, I would have enjoyed it a bit more. But they didn’t. He was isolated, had very little touches. I don’t think you’d ever see a Pochettino side playing like this.”
