West Ham captain Mark Noble has revealed what he said to his team-mates during half time as his side defeat Tottenham 3-2 in a Carabao Cup encounter on Wednesday.
The Hammers have started the season in poor form after taking just eight points from their opening nine games and they looked to be headed for yet another defeat on Wednesday as goals from Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli gave Spurs a 2-0 lead heading into half time.
The Hammers however managed to launch a sensational win during the second half and a brace from Andre Ayew as well as a striker from Angelo Ogbonna gave them victory.
The win will be a much needed confidence boost for Slaven Bilic’s men, who will play against Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend.
Noble has revealed how he helped to motivate his side during half time and said: “I said to the boys you have always got to believe. You can’t give up. We are Premier League footballers; you can’t just give up.”
