West Ham legend appears to question the Hammers despite Tottenham victory

West Ham booked a spot in the League Cup quarterfinals following a stunning 3-2 victory over Tottenham at Wembley on Wednesday night.

The Hammers came from behind from a 2-0 loss at half time to grab 3 goals in 15 minutes via Andre Ayew and Angelo Ogbonna, and will now hope to put in another outstanding display against Arsenal in December to keep their silverware dreams alive.

More importantly, manager Slaven Bilic will hope his charges can repeat such outstanding performance when Premier League action resumes at the weekend.

But can they?

West Ham have been plagued with inconsistencies since the start of last season, and that remains a hurdle.

Ex-Hammers striking legend Trevor Sinclair, like many, was surprised at Wednesday’s stunning result, and appeared to question if they have finally gotten the spark to turn their campaign around.

He took to Twitter to express his reaction after the game thus: “Does that mean another win and the board get sacked?

“Great spirit against the spuds (spurs).

“✌?Hope that’s the spark #COYI”

Crystal Palace host West Ham at the weekend, and while a loss won’t do any good to the pressure increasingly mounting on the manager, it wouldn’t come as a surprise as these players are capable of going from extraordinary to extra-disappointing within a twinkle of an eye.

Like Sinclair, though, fans can only hope that Wednesday victory will prove to be more than enough inspiration needed to spark the Hammers back to life.
