Arsenal legend Martin Keown has said that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is now on borrowed time following the Hammers 3-0 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday.
The win means that the Hammers have now picked up just eight points from their opening nine games this season and unless things improve drastically in the near future, they could be facing a relegation battle this season.
Bilic took responsibility for the defeat after the game and has admitted that his future is now no longer in his own hands.
Keown also feels that the time is now right for the Hammers to make a change. He said on BT Sport as reported by The Standard: “He didn’t give a good enough explanation as to why he should be kept in the job. He’s on borrowed time, something has to change.
“To lose 3-0 to Brighton, a newly promoted team, they didn’t really play with any confidence, certainly the last time I saw them at the Emirates, it just cannot happen.”
