Slaven Bilic explains why West Ham are not the dirtiest team in the EPL

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has insisted that his side are not the dirtiest in the Premier League.

The Hammers will have to make do without striker Andy Carroll for their game against Brighton tonight after he received a red-card last week against Burnley.

The 28-year-old Carroll became the second Hammers player this season to receive his marching orders after Marko Arnautovic was sent off against Southampton in August. Since Bilic took over from Sam Allardyce, he has seen an overall of 12 players sent off.

Nonetheless, the Croatian has insisted that his side are not the dirtiest in the Premier League and said, “None of these red cards were from a typical lack of discipline. Nobody head butted anyone. Andy’s one was basically stupid.

“But many of them we appealed and they were ruled out – three or four, or even five, were completely big mistakes from the referees.”
