Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye has expressed about his ultimate dream of playing for the Barcelona first team, according to Daily Star.
The former Ajax youth graduate, Adekanye, moved to Liverpool from Barcelona after the Catalan giants were forced to release the player in 2015 as a punishment for breaking FIFA rules on signing underage players.
Adekanye made a name for himself in the UEFA youth cup a few years ago, where he showed enormous potential with his impressive performances.
Considering his wonderful talent, the 18-year-old was immediately snapped up by the Reds when he became a free agent and the youngster has already started to impress for the Liverpool youth over the past few months.
In addition to his fine skillset, Adekanye also seems to possess lofty ambitions that matches his potential and the Nigeria born winger has revealed in a recent interview about his desire to play for Liverpool first team before ultimately turning up for the famous Barcelona side .
Adekanye told Dutch outlet VoetbalZone: “I wanted to try something different. I wanted to play on a higher level. In addition, Liverpool gives the opportunity to youth, just look at the club’s past. I thought, ‘I have good talent and am a good football player so why not? Why should not I try?’
“It has not gone as far as I had hoped, but I’m still young. I can learn a lot from my injuries and bad moments. I really need to play football and every minute I get to show myself. Hopefully, my dream comes true and that’s playing in Liverpool’s first-team.
“Yes, Barcelona is my ultimate dream, that’s right, and hopefully I will play there again in the future. But my dream for now is to get into Liverpool’s first-team.
“The club has a lot of confidence in me, they see a big talent in me. They say: ‘All you need to do is to keep fit and you can kick on here.’”
