Former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that he hopes to return to the club in a coaching role.
Van der Vaart joined the North London club from Real Madrid in August 2010 and went on to play in 63 Premier League games for the team, scoring 24 goals.
He eventually left the club in 2012 to link up with German outfit Hamburg, a decision which he admits that he regrets.
The 34 year old is currently on the books of Danish outfit FC Midtjylland and with the end of his career not too far away he is open to the idea of following in the footsteps of his former team-mate Scott Parker, who serves as coach of the Spurs under 18 side.
Speaking regarding a potential return, van der Vaart said, “I love working with young players and if I do coaching, Tottenham would be a good place because it is always in my heart.
“Whenever I can I watch their games on television. I still have a special feeling. That feeling, it never goes away.”
