Despite having lost 2-0 to Wolves during the weekend, Steve Frogatt believes that Aston Villa will challenge for Premier League promotion this season.
Villa were totally dominated against Wolves who top the Championship standings and even manager Steve Bruce admitted after the game that the opponents were the deserving winners.
The Villains however entered the game on a run of good form having been undefeated in their previous several Championship games before the match. This would have no doubt given them hope that they could have got something from the game.
Frogatt, who played for both Wolves and Villa during his playing days, believes that both clubs will be promotion contenders this season.
Villa and Wolves are 2 fantastic clubs that I had the privilege to wear the shirt for, ultimately I think they’ll both challenge promotion

End of a good run for Villa they are too one paced but it’s a marathon not a sprint and at they will have enough to be in play offs #avfc

The loss sees Bruce’s men slip to seventh position on the Championship standings as well as several points adrift of Wolves who are at the top of the standings. Villa next face Fulham at Villa Park on Saturday.
