Rangers star delivers big warning to Celtic as title charge appears back on

Rangers made it 2 wins out of 2 on Friday following their Old Firm derby loss, and belief is beginning to find its way back to the Ibrox camp as far as title race talks go.

The Gers ran out 4-nil winners over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, and summer arrival Fabio Cardoso is optimistic of his side’s chances at the top of league table.

Rangers remain 6 points behind joint leaders Celtic and Aberdeen, and are in great shape and mind ahead of weekend’s Betfred Cup semi-final clash with Motherwell.

Cardoso claims the Light Blues are beginning to finally gel under manager Pedro Caixinha, and is looking forward to winning the remainder of their league games.

The Portuguese believes such feat will put them firmly poised to land the title.

The 23-year-old centre-back told the press post-match: “We know if we win all our games until the end that we are going to be champions and we are going to try to do that.

“We are going to try to improve every day and win all the games we have as a team like on Friday.

“Of course we believe. If we don’t believe it’s better for you not to play. We’re going to do what we need to do every day to win every game.

“We know we’re on the right track and we’ll keep winning. We’ll show the people we are here to win and make a great season.”

The Cup encounter against 4th placed Motherwell will prove if Rangers really have what it takes to even finish in 2nd place in the league this term.

Cardoso and his teammates are still a long shot away to be regarded as title contenders, but if they are able to go 5 games without a draw or loss, Celtic might get worried and the rest of Scotland would keep an eye on them.
