Liverpool boss Klopp pays tribute to Manchester United

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said that Barcelona or any other team in World football would struggle to create opportunities against Jose Mourinho’s defensive minded Manchester United squad.

United played out to a 0-0 draw against the Reds on Saturday and looked to be playing a defensive brand of football throughout. This was probably due to the absences of Maroune Fellaini and Paul Pogba who had to miss the game through injury.

After the game Klopp said: “You cannot expect that we create 20 chances against Manchester United. It’s simply not possible. Barcelona, on their best day would not do it,” “We will see – United will not lose a lot of games in this season.

“If people think we should have done more offensively, that takes too long to explain football, to start at that point. I cannot think about this. Expectations, I can deal with this. We have the biggest expectations. The season is not over.”

For Liverpool, the draw presents another frustrating result and means that they have now won just one out of their last eight matches in all competitions. Klopp’s men can also take heart from the game as it proves that they can compete against the top sides in the League.
