Rangers legend reveals how Caixinha should deal with this menace in the squad

Ahead of Friday’s 3-nil victory over St. Johnstone, Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha revealed that the team’s starting XI to face the McDiarmid Park outfit back in May got leaked.

While the culprit remains unknown or unrevealed, earlier reports claimed the reason veteran forward Kenny Miller was dropped from the senior side weeks ago was because he leaked details of a team meeting to the media.

Inability to check such issues could hurt the team’s ambition, and Rangers legend Ally McCoist has revealed what he would have done in such case.

According to the ex-Gers striker and manager, he would have swiftly gotten rid of the reported leak within the squad, as such player shouldn’t be allowed to be part of the team.

McCoist claimed on BT Sport’s live broadcast following Friday’s result: “You need to find who it is and get rid of them, simple as. It’s the first thing you should do as a manager.

“You can’t have leaks in the dressing room. 100 per cent the players should be policing it. But with all due respect, look at the Rangers dressing room now.

“I’m not sure there are enough leaders or people who have the mental strength to lead the dressing room.”

It remains to be seen if Caixinha will reveal who really the dressing room leak is, but many believe it was Miller after the 37-year-old was temporarily demoted to the under-20’s.
