Leon had a rocky start to the Apertura but has picked it up after the arrival of Gustavo Diaz as manager. Los Esmeraldas have won four consecutive games and look to be a dangerous team heading into the playoffs. Club captain Mauro Boselli is currently in tremendous form, leading the Liga MX with nine goals and seems to be the player that will come away with the goal scoring title. The Argentine striker has scored in eight consecutive games and will be one of the more important players to keep an eye on in this game.
Tigres UANL is currently in fourth place with 19 points and even has a game in hand, demonstrating how dominant the team has been. Los Felinos are undefeated in their last six games and have won their last two games coming against Club Tijuana away from home and Chivas at home. Ricardo Ferretti has several prominent forwards on his team like Andre-Pierre Gignac, Enner Valencia and Eduardo Vargas.
Valencia has stood out in this tournament, currently leading Tigres with six goals in just seven games as a starter. A big component to Tigres’ recent success has been Brazilian midfielder Rafael Carioca, who has really tied everything together to start up attacks and recover the ball as well. The team from Nuevo Leon does have a much better team than the team from Leon but there is no clear winner heading into the match and the game should prove to be one of the best in the Liga MX this weekend.
