The Scottish Premiership isn’t as great as it once used to be, with Celtic’s complete dominance proving how uncompetitive and inferior the league has become.
Many believe a lot of players plying their trades in the SPFL don’t have what it takes to excel in a top league like the English topflight.
Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans, who once played for West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City, however, reckons his teammate Josh Windass is one of the few that can flourish in the Premier League.
Windass, 23, has been in splendid form this term, scoring once and assisting twice in 10 games across all competitions for the Gers.
The former Accrington Stanley star managed to find the back of the net just once last term, setting up 5 goals in 27 appearances.
Nevertheless, Dorrans, who arrived Rangers in July, holds the English man in high esteem, and is full of nothing but praises for the young playmaking genius.
The 30-year-old said of Windass on Rangers’ official podcast: “Josh is one of the players in this team that can single-handedly win a game. He is going to progress more, I know that and I can see that.
“He has got great ability and I’m confident that if he switches on and does the right things more often than not then Josh will get to the Premier League. I’m sure of that because his ability is second to none.”
Windass will have to convince the watching world of his quality by helping Rangers to keep pressure on Celtic at the top of the league table.
The Ibrox outfit play St. Johnstone away from home on Friday night, and the midfielder will be expected to put in a stellar performance in order to help lead Rangers to victory.
