Bilic wants this West Ham man to believe he is Kylian Mbappe

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has encouraged youngster Reece Oxford to start believing that he is Kylian Mbappe after receiving a nomination for the Golden Boy award.

The 18 year old Oxford is currently on the books of German club Borussia Monchengladbach for whom he has yet to make a first team appearance.

He did however impress last season as he managed first team appearances for the Hammers and Reading on loan.

Bilic said: “If he goes one way and thinks he is Mbappe then that’s wrong. He needs to use this in the right way.

“He has got it in him, get his place and start playing regularly. Hopefully he will get that in Germany and it’ll be great to play in the Bundesliga.”

Other players who made the golden boy award shortlist included Manchester United starlet Marcus Rashford as well as PSG’s KylianMbappe.

Oxford is currently going through a difficult patch but hopefully he can use this to gain confidence going forward.
