According to reports, Tottenham rejected an offer made by French club Nice to take Harry Winks on loan last season.
The 21 year old Winks has established himself as one of the most highly rated young prospects in England during recent times and was praised as he made his national team debut for the Three Lions during their recent 1-0 victory over Lithuania.
The Daily Mail has now revealed that French club Nice, who finished in third position on the Ligue 1 standings last season, had wished to take Winks on loan last season and that their proposal had been rejected by Spurs.
After breaking into the Spurs first team last season, Winks went on to play 21 times in the Premier League. He will have to try and play regularly this season if he wishes to claim a place in Gareth Southgate’s 23 man squad for the World Cup next year.
