Tottenham to be handed huge boost for Liverpool clash

According to reports, Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is hoping to return to action when the Lilywhites play against Liverpool next week.

The Kenyan international suffered an injury to his left knee during pre-season and the problem was aggravated after he appeared against Chelsea and Newcastle during the early parts of the season.

The former Southampton defender is set to return to training this week though he is still not match fit.  He is likely to miss his side’s Premier League encounter against Bournemouth this week as well as their Champions League match against Real Madrid next week.

The return of Wanyama will be a huge boost for Spurs as he played a key role in their title push last season.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino will be willing to utilize Wanyama when they play against Liverpool as he may lack match fitness following his layoff.
