Match Preview
Serbia is currently leading Group D of the competition with 18 points but needs to at least get a point from this game to secure a first-place finish. The Slavic side is coming from a tough 3-2 loss away from home against Austria but had two consecutive wins before that defeat. Slavoljub Muslin’s team had no problems defeating Georgia the last time the two teams met, walking away with a 3-1 win away from home. This game should be much of the same of what was seen in the last meeting between the two teams as Serbia has a much more talented side than its opponent.
Georgia has been a very fragile team in this Group D of the competition, currently in fifth place with only five points. The Crusaders are already eliminated from contending for a spot in the next World Cup and do not look like a team that will give much fight in this last game of the qualifiers. The Eurasian side is coming off a 1-0 defeat against Wales at home and should suffer a similar fate in this game coming up against a much more formidable team.
