Luxembourg vs Bulgaria Match Preview
Luxembourg has been one of the poorest teams in this UEFA region, currently last in Group A with five points and a goal differential of negative 18. The Red Lions’ biggest achievement in this competition was a scoreless draw against France but the last time these two team met, Bulgaria came away with a 4-3 win. Aurélien Joachim scored two of his four goals that he has in these qualifiers in that game and he should be the main player to watch on Luc Holtz’ team.
Bulgaria had a decent run in these qualifiers, currently fourth in Group A with 12 points. The Lions have not made a World Cup since 1998 and still have been unable to find success like it had with star striker Hristo Stoichkov. Petar Hubchev’s men are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 loss at home against France and have had some success in the qualifiers with wins against the Netherlands and Sweden. Bulgaria should be able to win this game with not many complications and finish the competition with a respectable 15 points.
