France vs Belarus Match Preview
France is currently first in Group A of the competition with 20 points but does not have a ticket secured to Russia just yet. Sweden is right behind the Group A leaders, in second with 19 points and this is a must-win game for Les Bleus to secure their own fate. Didier Deschamps’ men are coming from a slim 1-0 win against Bulgaria, where a goal by Blaise Matuidi secured the three points from the game.
France has been a dominant team in this competition for the most part but has suffered some disappointing results like a 2-1 loss against Sweden and scoreless draws against Luxembourg and Belarus. Les Tricolores are not guaranteed a win in this match but it is highly likely that Belarus will not give a very competitive effort in this match.
Belarus has been eliminated from a chance at making the 2018 FIFA World Cup, currently fifth with five points in the tournament but will try and scrape something from this game to avoid a last-place finish. The White Wings are not a very potent team in this UEFA region but have managed to pull off some surprising results like a 0-0 draw against France and a 2-1 win against Bulgaria. The Eastern European side is coming off a 3-1 loss against the Netherlands and a similar result should come from this game.
