Antonio Conte unhappy at Chelsea board for their failure to sign this player

According to reports, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is angry over the way in which his club handled negotiations over signing Fernando Llorente during the transfer period.

Though the Blues signed Alvaro Morata for £60 million, they had hoped to land another striker and Llorente was on their radar after his impressive form for Swansea last season.

Chelsea offered the Swans just £5 million for Llorente and he eventually ended up moving to Tottenham for £11.5 million

Conte had initially asked for Llorente to be signed in January after Diego Costa became linked with a move to the Chinese Super League.

However the Chelsea board did not want to sign the player as he has little re-sale value and were concerned about his mobility.

Llorente is an experienced striker who did prove last season that he is able to succeed in England. He would have been a good signing for provide cover for Morata.
