Match Preview

Sweden is in a fight for the first-place spot out of Group A of the competition with France but could also drop out of its second-place spot with unfavorable results in its last two games. The Blue-Yellow are on a fantastic run winning three out of their last four games, this includes an impressive 2-1 win against France. The most recent result for the Nordic side was a dominant 4-0 win against Belarus at home, where four different goalscorers led their country to the three points.

Among the scorers were Marcus Berg and Emil Forsberg, who now have four goals each in these qualifiers and should make a presence in this game. Sweden has not lost at home in this competition and is unlikely to do so in this game against a weak Luxembourg side.

Luxembourg has already been eliminated from a chance at participating in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, currently in fifth with only five points. The Red Lions have not been a very exciting team in this competition but are coming from a shocking scoreless draw against France away from home.

The Western European side counts with a very young squad, including nine players who do not exceed the age of 20. The game should be an interesting matchup but Sweden is the clear favorite to take the three points after the 90 minutes.
