West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku has admitted that his team did not play well during the weekend despite having beaten Swansea 1-0.
The game looked headed for a boring 0-0 stale-mate before Masuaku and Manuel Lanzini combined at the last minute to set up Diafra Sakho who scored the winning goal.
The win provided a much needed confidence boost to the Hammers going into the international break and it also eased the pressure on manager Slaven Bilic. Recent reports have suggested that the Croatian could soon be sacked should the performances of the East London club fail to improve soon.
Despite the win this weekend, Masuaku admitted that his side did not play well on the day, saying, “It was a very tough game against a good team, but we have the three points and this is the most important thing for us.
“It was difficult, as Swansea played very well, but I have to be honest, I don’t think we played well, in my opinion. We have to improve and work hard in training starting from next week.
“We have to be positive because I think we have a good team and a great squad, so let us keep working to get higher up the league.”
The Hammers have now moved up to 15th position on the League standings. They still however need to work very hard if they wish to have a good season.
