Why Everton should fire Ronald Koeman now

Everton slumped to their 4th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday, and surprisingly, it didn’t come against a title challenger or a top-half-of-the-table team.

Burnley condemned the Toffees to their 2nd league loss at Goodison Park this season – the same number of home defeats they suffered in 2016-17.

The result means Everton have managed to pick up just 7 points in as many games this term, and from the look of things, these woeful results won’t get better.

The Merseysiders should make a bold call and show manager Ronald Koeman the exit door.

It sounds like a harsh decision, it actually is, but the earlier the better for the club, else they could be shock contenders for relegation this term.

Narrow victories against Stoke City and Bournemouth were largely unconvincing, and with Brighton, Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester City next to play in October, how this woeful side can manage to get at least 4 points against these sides remains to be seen.

The little said about their Europa League campaign, the better.

Spending £120million on transfers this summer alone have yielded nothing, and a top 10 finish not only looks wide of the mark, this Everton side looks like a team that will struggle to hold on to their Premier League status at the end of the campaign.

The signs are there to see, and the only way out could be to let go of the Dutch manager.

Things could go awry if they hesitate to.
