Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has described Harry Winks as being a perfect midfielder. The 21-year-old Winks has struggled with low fitness levels recently following his injury which he suffered against Burnley in April.
Winks has only managed to make brief appearances for Spurs off the bench this season. However he did make two starts during the past three games and this will be encouraging news for Spurs fans as it proves that the player is on the road towards heading back to full fitness.
Winks was handed a start for the Lillywhites during the Champions League game against APOEL Nicosia and was very impressive as he went on to complete 86% of his passes.
Pochettino has now hailed the player, saying, “For me he’s the perfect midfielder, who can play box to box or like a holding midfielder. He has the quality and the capacity to play and use the manner of the game and read it.
“He’s so clever and we’re so happy that he starts to feel better now, because he provides to the team qualities that we don’t have.”
