Tigres vs Chivas 2017 Match Preview

Tigres UANL has been impressive in this Apertura 2017, currently in fourth place with 16 points with a game in hand as well.  The latest result for Los Felinos was a 1-0 away win against Club Tijuana away from home and with that win are now undefeated in five consecutive games. Eduardo Vargas scored the lone goal for Tigres in the game against Club Tijuana, the Chilean is now up to four goals and forms part of a deadly attack with Andre-Pierre Gignac, Enner Valencia and more.

Javier Aquino provided the assist on the goal also continuing his great run of form and should be able to make an impact in this game. The team from Nuevo Leon should be able to win this game, especially with the home-field advantage as Tigres is undefeated at the Estadio Universitario this season.

Chivas of Guadalajara has been a very disappointing team after defeating Tigres UANL in the Liga MX final last season. Los Rojiblancos are currently in 14th place with only nine points and are coming off an abysmal 2-1 loss against Lobos BUAP at home. Some of the players that stood out for Guadalajara last season like Orbelin Pineda and Rodolfo Pizarro have been severely underperforming in this tournament.

A huge positive for Matias Almeyda in that loss against Lobos was that Alan Pulido played in the game after being out this season due to injury. Chivas has been struggling massively without a consistent goalscorer and Pulido could be the solution to that problem. This should be an incredibly tough game for El Rebaño Sagrado especially away from home and it should be tough to even get a point out of the game.
