Celtic boosted ahead of Hibernian clash as opponents’ 5 first-teamers might miss out

Celtic appear to have been handed another easy route to maintaining their seemingly unending-unbeaten streak ahead of Saturday’s clash against Hibernian.

The Hoops host the 4th placed team on the Scottish Premiership log and will attempt to make it 58 domestic games without a loss.

Hibs, already set to miss the trio of Ofir Marciano, Liam Fontaine and Darren McGregor, could be without Brandon Barker and David Gray, with manager Neil Lennon still sweating the fitness of his winger and skipper respectively.

Facing a weakened Hibs’ side will only help fast-track victory for Celtic, and the possibility could even see manager Brendan Rodgers hand rest to some of his key first XI members after midweek’s Champions League victory over Anderlecht.

The Bhoys have a chance to further extend their lead at the top of the log to more than 2 points with a victory, as 2nd placed Aberdeen host 3rd placed St. Johnstone in what is expected to be a hard-fought encounter.
