Free agent Carlton Cole is reportedly set to sign for Premier League side Crystal Palace as manager Roy Hodgson looks to bring the Eagles’ campaign back on track.
Crystal Palace are enduring a horrendous start to their campaign so far, currently sitting at the bottom of the table after failing to score in any of their first six games of the season and they clearly need someone to inspire the team to get back into winning ways soon.
Palace sacked manager Frank De Boer only four games into the season and his replacement Roy Hodgson now has a very difficult task in his hand to lift the Eagles from the bottom of the table.
In his attempt to turn Palace’s fortunes around, the former England and Switzerland manager is now reportedly keen to bring in powerful forward Charlton Cole, who is currently available for free transfer, to Selhurst Park.
The former West Ham player was never a prolific goal scorer in his career, as his highest tally throughout a season in the league was 10.
However, his hold up play is excellent and he has the experience of being involved in the bottom of the table scraps which will be a valuable asset to bring back belief in the Palace side.
