Leon vs America Match Preview

Leon has been very successful in its transitional phase under new manager Gustavo Diaz, winning its two first games under the Uruguayan boss. Diaz’s first victory was a 2-1 road win against Queretaro then followed that with a dominant 3-1 win against Pachuca at home. Club captain Mauro Boselli has been in tremendous form, scoring a goal in each of Leon’s last six games.

The Argentine forward has seven goals in the Apertura 2017 and has been one of the most clinical strikers in the league. This will be a very tough game for Los Esmeraldas even with the home-field advantage but they should be able to at least get a point out of the game.

Club America has been having a very nice season under Miguel Herrera but has only won one out of its last four Liga MX games. The latest result for Las Aguilas was a 1-1 draw against Club Tijuana away from home where the team was very lucky to come away with the point from the game. Goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin had a spectacular performance and impeded Los Xolos from walking home with the three points from the game.

“Piojo” Herrera has a solid team but is missing a prominent striker that is preventing the team from being more dominant in the league. The Mexico City team has not won in its last two away games and this should be another tough game against a Leon team that seems to be on the rise.
