West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart has suggested that his side were better than Tottenham at times during their 3-2 Premier League defeat at the hands of Mauricio Pochettino’s men this weekend.
The England first choice goalkeeper also suggested that it was mistakes from his side rather than the quality of the North London club which cost his team points.
A brace from Harry Kane and a goal from Christian Eriksen consigned Spurs to their fourth defeat of the season and it means that they have taken just four points from their opening six games. The Hammers will need to improve their form soon or this season could prove to be a relegation battle.
Despite the defeat, Hart has insisted that his team can take positives from their weekend defeat and said, “I don’t think Spurs will feel they came here and pumped us. They’re one of the best teams in the league and we’ve given them a fight for the whole game.
“Whilst it was 0-0 I felt we were the stronger team. We’ve got to learn from our mistakes and if we learn from it it’s not a problem.”
