Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp has said that Harry Kane should be earning a salary which is on par with the Premier League’s top earners.
Whilst discussing Kane, Redknapp said, “Everything is there for him at Spurs. They have a great young team but it’s a case of rewarding him. Make it right that he stays at Tottenham.
“Whatever the top player in the country is on, he should have parity. It’s as simple as that. I think the cat is out of the bag now, everyone knows how much the top players are on. Kyle Walker will be telling his mates how much he’s earning at Manchester City and that will be a problem.”
Kane is currently one of the top strikers in world football, having finished as the top scorer in the Premier League during the past two seasons.
He currently earns £100,000-a-week and this will need to increase should Spurs wish to have their star man remain at the club for the future.
Spurs are a club that is renowned for paying their players less in comparison to that of other English heavy whites.
This could be one of the reasons why they have ended up losing players such as Kyle Walker, Dimitar Berbatov and Gareth Bale over the years.
