Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has said that his team’s current good run of form in the Premier League has come as no surprise to him.
Many criticized the Magpies after they lost their opening two games of the League and some even questioned whether they have what it takes to survive the Premier League this season following a disappointing summer transfer window.
The Tyneside club have however responded well and have won their past three Premier League encounters in succession to move up to fourth on the standings.
Though Benitez criticized his club’s board for failing to grant him sufficient capital to bolster his side during the summer, he claimed that their current impressive run of form does not surprise him.
He said, “It’s difficult to say because when you see them training every day you know they can play at the level that they have been.
“But you have to win any way you can. Sometimes when you’re playing well you can’t win and sometimes playing bad you are winning.”
